In our unit, students will simulate the creation of their own rock band. Students will create the individual members of the band, as well as assume the roles of Marketing Director, Newspaper Reporter, and Accountant. Student assignments include the creation of a band logo, member biographies, tour poster and newspaper review. Our unit places an emphasis on communication skills through group work, and creative and critical thinking. Our unit is intended to promote both intuitive and imaginative thought. This Music lesson provides a teacher and student section with a variety of activities, student self-evaluation and answer key to create a well-rounded lesson plan.
